The current Linux archive already contains a .desktop entry, icon and MIME metadata, but I agree that extracting an archive and configuring everything manually is not a proper installation experience.
Creating basic .deb and .rpm files is straightforward; the additional work is ensuring dependencies, upgrades, uninstalling and desktop integration all behave correctly, then incorporating the packages into the release and verification system. The plan is to provide both packages for x64 Objo Studio while retaining the existing .tar.gz as a portable fallback.
I haven’t scheduled the work yet, but it is now on the roadmap.
