I am very excited to see my very first Objo app go live tomorrow! It is a tool that announces trail race participant arrivals in real time, via an animation on the finish line arch.
The app reads arrivals at a gate upstream from the finish line every second via a web API, and creates an animated rendering in a webview with the names of the finishers and fun messages between arrivals. The animation window is captured by the arch's control room for a PIP (Picture-in-Picture) display over the video that animates the rest of the arch.
It’s not extraordinarily complex, but not completely trivial either, and Objo was perfect for it. I hope everything goes well tomorrow for the big day!
