The overlapping issue seems more like a feature than a bug: if one element overlaps another enough, it hierarchically becomes its child. For my part, I would much prefer to be able to organize that manually in the hierarchy window, in a free and arbitrary way (for example, being able to put fields and their labels in a group, which I have failed to do so far).
EDIT: I renamed the containers on the window to ContainerA and ContainerB because it seems some kind of name collision was causing the compilation error.
