Richard_And_Trisha You can cancel the lowercase folding by putting names in double quotes but it's less of a pain in the patootie to just use underscores, e.g., tbl_user, tbl_preferences.
It's not an aspect of Postgres that I love, but you get an awful lot for free and their plugin architecture / extensibility is pretty cool. I've made most of my $ from Microsoft shops or I would probably prefer Postgres as my default. Sql Server is pretty good, and I know its quirks, and little differences like that, the differences in how Postgres manages contention, etc can be annoying at first ... but their design choices aren't bad, just different -- and you can't beat the price. Sql Server Enterprise Edition license last I looked cost as much as a compact new car.
