Hi Garry,

I ran into the following:

PDF / print output swaps red and blue in bitmaps
A bitmap drawn into a PrintJob page comes out with red and blue swapped in the PDF; printing is affected the same way. Vector drawing (text, lines) is fine.

Expected: red. Same with Chart.ToPicture(): blue bars come out brown.

DrawPicture(pic, x, y, w, h) crops instead of scaling for HiDPI pictures
With a @2 picture (e.g. Chart.ToPicture() on a Retina screen), the 5-argument DrawPicture shows an enlarged section of the picture instead of scaling the whole picture into w × h. When drawing into a picture created with scale factor 2.0, the enlargement is about 4×. A picture with scale factor 1 (e.g. via Picture.FromBytes(pic.ToPNG())), drawn at natural size under g.Scale, works correctly.

Drawn with the 5-argument DrawPicture into a PrintJob page, the chart came out about twice as large. Text drawn after it on the same page was also too large and too low, as if a transform was left behind.

....more precise: the red/blue swap in PDF and print output only happens on macOS; Windows builds are correct.
It sounds like the bitmap is handed over as BGRA on macOS but read as RGBA, or the other way round.

Thanks for reporting these, and for checking the Windows output. I’ve confirmed and logged both bugs:

For the SVG issue, could you share a small project that reproduces the enlarged chart and the incorrectly sized or positioned text afterwards? Alternatively, the chart setup and complete RenderPage handler would help, including any Scale, Translate, SaveState or RestoreState calls.

I haven’t reproduced that part yet, so the exact drawing sequence would help isolate it. Please include your macOS version too?

Attached is a small project for the SVG case (SvgPrintRepro). RenderPage does, in this order, with no Scale/Translate/SaveState/RestoreState calls anywhere:

white FillRectangle over the printable area;
DrawPicture(Picture.FromSVG(Chart1.ToSVG()), x, y, w, h), scaled to the page width;
a red frame where the chart is expected;
three lines of 11 pt DrawText below the chart, inside a blue frame.

Expected: the whole chart inside the red frame and small text inside the blue frame. What I get: the chart about twice as large (only Jan–Jun visible), and the text much larger and further down the page.
The second button does the same with Chart1.ToPicture() for comparison.

Thanks for the project and macOS details, madru. I reproduced the enlarged and displaced text after drawing the SVG. This is a bug in Objo’s SVG drawing code: it could leave the drawing state incorrect and affect subsequent drawing on the page.

I’ve fixed it and added regression tests using your project for both PDF export and the printing path. The tests check the chart, frames and text placement, including drawing at higher resolutions.

The fix is recorded as bug #1651 and will be included in the next release.
