Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to add a built-in Spinner control for both desktop and web projects. It will show a compact circular waiting animation, without needing an animated GIF.
You’ll be able to add it through Studio’s visual designers and control it with an Active property:
Spinner1.Active = True
# When the operation finishes:
Spinner1.Active = False
It will use the application’s theme accent by default, with a Colour property for customisation:
Spinner1.Colour = Colour.RGB(40, 120, 220)
Switching it off will clear the indicator while keeping its allocated space, so surrounding content won’t jump around.
In the meantime, the existing ProgressBar can provide a waiting indication by setting its Indeterminate property to True.
