Provide a toast-style notifications: short feedback messages (e.g., success, error, warning, info) that appear in a stack at a configurable screen position, optionally include a title/message and icon, display a countdown progress bar, pause while hovered, and auto-dismiss after a configurable timeout. Messages can also be dismissed manually via a close button or by clicking. I'd love something like this for the web apps in particular.

Thanks. I like this suggestion and have added it to the roadmap as Add in-app notifications to Web applications.

The public API will call these in-app notifications rather than “toasts”. The planned API will support:

Information, success, warning and error styles
Optional titles and system symbols
Configurable stack positions
Finite or persistent durations
Countdown progress bars
Automatic pausing while hovered or keyboard-focused
Close buttons, click-to-dismiss and programmatic dismissal
Responsive, accessible and theme-aware presentation

The common case should remain concise, along the lines of Application.InAppNotifications.Show("Changes saved.", .Success).

I've also added Support native browser notifications in Web applications to the roadmap. These will use the browser or operating system’s notification interface, require explicit user permission and be intended for more significant events outside the active page.

The two features are complementary: in-app notifications provide lightweight feedback while someone is using the application, whereas native browser notifications can alert them outside the application UI.
